The Burren Smokehouse

We source our smoked Irish eel from The Burren Smokehouse, a family-run business set up in 1989 by the owners Birgitta & Peter Curtin in Lisdoonvarna, Co. Clare. The Burren Smokehouse sources exclusively Irish raw materials to produce a product that is both sustainable and delicious.

They believe that smoking is an ancient craft and an art. They smoke Irish organic salmon, wild mackerel, eel and rainbow trout the way it was done hundreds and even thousands of years ago. The only difference is that after the smoking process, They slice and pack the fish in a very clean and safe manner.
